ICF, Functional Profile and Buona Scuola. A new model for taking care of and planning for pupils with disabilities

The paper presents the results of an action-research project called Io Ti Conosco Minori (ITC-m), aimed at developing a new model for taking care and planning for pupils with disabilities in education. The International Classification of Functioning, Disability and Health (WHO, 2001) was identified and used as a conceptual framework guiding all phases of the project, which was coordinated by the University of Aosta Valley together with the direct collaboration of all institutions and associations involved in disability and inclusive processes in the region. Documents accompanying pupils with disabilities during the school period were restructured on the basis of the ICF and a new model was made, anticipating the indications of the current legislation. In the last stage of the process, the model was digitised and is available on a web platform.
