«All Means All». The SWIFT programme for the implementation of an inclusive education system in the United States
Marzia Mazzer
Ensuring quality, equitable and inclusive education is a priority of school systems worldwide. Achieving this goal requires the implementation of multiple actions at organisational, cultural and educational levels. These include the establishment of collaborative relationships between general teachers, support teachers and other educational professionals. This article aims to encourage reflection on teaching practices that facilitate collaboration in the light of the results obtained by the US educational programme Schoolwide Integrated Framework for Transformation (SWIFT). This reflection will be driven by a reconstruction of the different stages that gradually led American schools to welcome students with Special Educational Needs and by an analysis of the strategies adopted by the SWIFT programme to improve the learning of all students.
