Special Educational Needs at the University? An experience of inclusion of students with «Special Learning Needs»
Giulia Savarese, Daniela D’Elia
This paper gives an account of a project on university inclusion for two students with «Special Educational Needs», under psychiatric treatment but without a certified disability or a certified learning disorder.
The inclusion project entailed the setting up of a «Social Network», linking the university, the family, social services and the students’ psychiatrist and psychologist.
Currently, there are no specific regulations for the ad hoc inclusion for SEN at university but in our experience many students need educational support and help with social inclusion at university because they have «special learning needs».
