The beloved law on school inclusion: Looking for «roots and antennas»

Law no. 517/77 is the device that best represents the model of school inclusion of pupils with disabilities in our country’s tradition: a project that continues to arouse interest on the international scene. In celebrating forty years since its emanation, we are proposing a critical review, starting with cultural and scientific evolutions and with the reforms of the school and social-health policies that fed and drove its implementation, in order to enhance the foundations that make it topical even today and to highlight the unpredictable evolutions of the modern integration process.
