University education and inclusive perspectives in Kosovo
Roberto Dainese
In recent years the Republic of Kosovo has started an important innovative process of the education system.
This process is designed to develop new skills and abilities for teachers and to generate change in political and legislative contexts.
Save the Children has been active in Prishtina since 1997 and, embracing these perspectives of innovation launched
in the post-war period, has been engaged in promoting the idea of inclusive schools aimed at encouraging the education of children with disabilities, children belonging to minority communities and those living in poverty.
Save the Children has founded a joint project between the Faculty of Education at the University of Prishtina and the Department of Education Studies at the University of Bologna. This venture has the objective of introducing inclusive education for teacher training programmes and developing a Master’s programme in «inclusive education».
