Philosophy for Children for (inclusive) Good Schools

Giorgia Ruzzante

This paper presents a pedagogical interpretation of the Italian reform of educational institutions named «La Buona Scuola» («The Good School»). Starting with the analysis of some key concepts that are considered fundamental for «good schools» the text of law 107/15 is discussed. What pedagogical suggestions does the recent reform «La Buona Scuola» propose? What is the meaning of «good schools»? What pedagogical references can we find in the document? Starting from these questions, an alternative school model to the Human Capital paradigm is proposed, that of Human Development, which recommends, as an alternative proposal, the Community of Inquiry in Philosophy for Children as an inclusive community for the development of critical, creative and caring thinking.
