Il ruolo della scuola nello sviluppo dei valori etico-sociali nei bambini e nei giovani in Serbia
Bisera Jevtić
This article examines educational activities implemented at school aiming to create a favourable environment for the development of each individual in the community, implicating a reference to conditions in which all youths can become active citizens, without prejudices towards others. The complexity of the teacher’s role in the process of a pupil’s social education, among other things, comes from the practical realisation of its requirements: thanks to moral education pupils should become active participants in the development of their moral qualities whilst teachers should take on the roles of collaborator and guide. Teachers’ didactic and pedagogical activity in this educational intervention is complex and their success depends on a combination of educational factors. Our research analyses teachers’ ideas about the role of schools in the moral development of children and youths in Serbia. The data obtained from this research are in line with data from literature, as well as with the supposition that teachers in Serbian schools use innovative methods and processes inadequately and insufficiently for the development of ethical values in youths.
