Sport e disabilità. Cosa ne pensano gli insegnanti di educazione motoria

Anna Maria Favorini, Fabio Bocci, Stefano Zucca

This article illustrates the results of an explanatory survey designed to investigate the beliefs concerning the sportdisability binomial recurring most frequently in a sample group comprising of motor education teachers. The survey represents the first part of a broader programme that intends to identify the possible existence of the same collection of beliefs in other subjects, for example, curriculum teachers and special needs teachers, parents, persons not involved directly in educational duties and, last but not least, persons with disabilities. The underlying theme that guides the research initiative is represented by the aspect that considers the educational integration and social acceptance of persons with Special Educational Needs as being the result of a series of social, cultural and scientific variables. Sport in this context and the concept that sport can be practiced by everyone and at all levels represents a significant observation point to better appreciate the state-of-the-art of the attitude and to experience integration in Italy.
