Developing language through executive functions: A telerehabilitation experience

In the 2019 Consensus Conference, which debated on language disorders, researchers updated the earlier diagnostic label to Primary Language Disorder and agreed to affirm that PLD children have not only linguistic deficits, but also difficulties in other areas, such as Executive Functions (EF). Therefore, this project aims to understand whether EF improvement could support language development in PLD children. Because of the pandemic emergency, the entire project was carried out as telerehabilitation. The experimental group comprised six PLD children aged between three years and 11 months and six years. There were two subgroups: one of them participated in direct training while the other one took part in indirect training. The results show improvements in all tested areas.
