Sense of Coherence Scale: First contribution to validation of the Italian version

Annamaria Di Fabio

The purpose of this study was to offer the first contribution to the validation of the Italian version of the Sense of Coherence Scale. Participants were 146 high school students. Dimensionality, reliability, and concurrent validity were analyzed. Confirmatory factor analysis supported a unidimensional version of the scale. In addition, good internal consistency and concurrent validity were established. Results indicate that the Italian version of the Sense of Coherence Scale is a valid instrument for measuring sense of coherence also in the Italian context.
