Workaholism: What’s new?
Yura Loscalzo, Marco Giannini
This review aims to analyse the latest scientific publications on workaholism, in order to identify possible areas to examine regarding its conceptualisation, its consequences, its antecedents and interventions for its treatment and its prevention. We found that a shared definition is still lacking, despite the new conceptualisations and the new instruments proposed. Furthermore, the analysis of organisational antecedents is still an understudied research area, as is that relating to the treatment and prevention of addiction to work. We can conclude that currently it is necessary to establish a common definition that would allow more accurate knowledge of the phenomenon of workaholism.
