Changes in the world of work, guidance models and the role of career services

The paper presents contents and reflections on the thematic seminar “Employability and development of education and professional career. Guidance models, service structure and relations with local services” organised by Italia Lavoro on July 8, 2016 in Montepulciano. It also contains an historical excursus on the evolution of guidance, from the traditional stages to the most current scientific models. It then outlines a framework of the abilities needed to better face the challenges of the 21st century, introducing the innovative construct of Intrapreneurial Self-Capital. Lastly, an evolution of career services is presented, providing incentives to advance reflection in the field of guidance and services: from models to activation timing, from the target subject to connection with the local network, from the method of provision of services to professional figures and related operator training.
