The perspective of professional psychologists in the South of Italy: The current scenario in Puglia.

The aim of this paper is to explore the current status of the profession of psychologist in the South of Italy and to analyse different professional sectors, discussing the future career of psychologists. The instrument used is a questionnaire/interview which included socio-demographic data, data about skills used in their job and questions about potential skills not used but required for work. Participants were psychologists (N = 333) enrolled in the professional regional register. Results indicated that the profession of psychologist is continually developing. Many opportunities are growing especially in education and in business/work contexts in the private sector.
