Paulhus Deception Scale (PDS): Psychometric properties of a short form of the Italian version
Annamaria Di Fabio
The purpose of this study was to examine the psychometric properties of a short form (12 items) of the Italian version of the Paulhus Deception Scale (PDS) for its use in the Italian context. The PDS was administered to 311 workers. Dimensionality, reliability, and concurrent validity were investigated. Confirmatory factor analysis supported a two-dimensional version of the questionnaire. Satisfactory internal consistency and concurrent validity were found. Results indicated that the short form of the Italian version of the PDS is a valid instrument for detecting self-management and impression management also in the Italian context.
