Short Profile of Emotional Competence: Psychometric properties of the Italian version
Annamaria Di Fabio
The purpose of this study was to analyze the psychometric properties of the Italian version of the Short Profile of Emotional Competence (S-PEC) for its use in the Italian context. The S-PEC was administered to 244 participants. Dimensionality, reliability, and concurrent validity were investigated. Confirmatory factor analysis supported the structure of the original version of the questionnaire. Satisfactory internal consistency and concurrent validity were found. Results indicated that the Italian version of the S-PEC is a valid instrument for detecting emotional intelligence also in the Italian context.
