One-Day International Conference Sustainable Development as a Fourth Paradigm for Twenty-First Century Careers: The Precious Contribution of Active Lives for the Construction of Decent and Healthy Work and Life

The One-Day International Conference «Sustainable Development as a Fourth Paradigm for Twenty-First Century Careers: The Precious Contribution of Active Lives for the Construction of Decent and Healthy Work and Life», IAAP Special Project «Promoting Decent Work for All» will be held in hybrid modality on February 25th 2025, at the Aula Magna of the Rectorate of the University of Florence. The event is part of a series of International Conferences organized by Annamaria Di Fabio (Full Professor of Work and Organizational Psychology, University of Florence, Member of the Board of Directors BoD of the International Association of Applied Psychology IAAP) within the IAAP Special Project «Promoting Decent Work for All», that the University of Florence has been in charge of since 2018. The event was organized by the Department of Education, Languages, Interculture, Literatures and Psychology of the University of Florence with the support of Division 1 «Work and Organizational Psychology» of the International Association of Applied Psychology (IAAP). This Conference was also promoted by the UNESCO Chair «Lifelong Guidance and Counseling» coordinated by the University of Wroclaw (Poland), and the UniTwin Network «Life Designing Interventions (counseling, guidance, education) for decent work and sustainable development». It was also promoted by the Italian Association of Psychology (Associazione Italiana di Psicologia, AIP). The event will include prestigious international keynote speakers such as José Maria Peiró (Professor Emeritus of Work and Organizational Psychology, IDOCAL Research Institute, University of Valencia, Valencia, Spain; Past President of the International Association of Applied Psychology IAAP), and Jean Guichard (Professor Emeritus of Vocational Psychology, Conservatoire National des Arts et Métiers CNAM-INETOP, Paris, France, Honorary President of the UNESCO Chair on Lifelong Guidance and Counseling — Founding President of the Chair).

The scientific committee of the event is composed of Dina Guglielmi (University of Bologna, Italy), Annamaria Di Fabio (University of Florence, Italy), Jean Guichard (CNAM-INETOP, Paris, France), and José María Peiró (IDOCAL Research Institute, University of Valencia, Spain). This event will propose innovative topics related to sustainable development as a fourth paradigm for twenty-first century careers and the precious contribution of active lives for the construction of decent and healthy work and life. The event is included in the Public Engagement activities.

One-day International Conference «Bridging Engineering and Applied Psychology Enhancing Transdisciplinarity: The New Challenge of Social Acceptance to Build Progress, Decency and Sustainability»

The One-Day International Conference «Bridging Engineering and Applied Psychology Enhancing Transdisciplinarity: The New Challenge of Social Acceptance to Build Progress, Decency and Sustainability» will be held in hybrid mode on February 27th 2025, at the Aula Magna of the Rectorate of the University of Florence. The event is part of the MANUREFINERY Horizon Project coordinated by Technological Institute of Aragon (Spain) and for which the University of Florence (Italy) is one of the partners with the involvement of the Department of Industrial Engineering (DIEF), and of the Department of Education, Languages, Intercultures, Literatures and Psychology (FORLIPSI). The event will include prestigious international keynote speakers such as Alicia Salvador (Full Professor of Psychobiology, University of Valencia, Valencia, Spain). The event will also include «General Reflections: Starting from the power of Reflexivity in real contexts for the MANUREFINERY Project» with as Discussants Annamaria Di Fabio (Professor of Psychology of Sustainability and Sustainable Development, University of Florence, Italy) and Jean Guichard (Professor Emeritus of Vocational Psychology, Conservatoire National des Arts et Métiers (CNAM-INETOP), Paris, France Honorary President of the UNESCO Chair on Lifelong Guidance and Counseling (Founding President) UNITWIN cooperation program: The international network Life designing interventions (counseling, guidance, education) for decent work and sustainable development).

Furthermore, the event will include a transdisciplinary Round Table titled «Bridging the Productive World and Applied Psychology Enhancing Transdisciplinarity» with experts and a prestigious discussant: José Maria, Professor Emeritus of Work and Organizational Psychology, IDOCAL Research Institute, University of Valencia, Valencia, Spain). The event is included in the Public Engagement activities.

Career Guidance and Counseling for Hope in the Anthropocene

Joensuu, Finland, 26-27 March, 2025

The UNITWIN Conference Career Guidance and Counseling for Hope in the Anthropocene will take place in Joensuu (Finland) on 26th-27th March 2025. The conference is organized in association with the UNESCO/UNITWIN International Network Life Designing Interventions (counseling, guidance, education) for decent work and sustainable development, and with the University of Eastern Finland as the main operational organizer in collaboration with University of Jyväskylä. The conference is open to UNITWIN network members and all colleagues interested in career guidance, decent work, life design and related topics. The event will include the following keynote speakers: Antti Rajala (Professor of Sociocultural Psychology and Education, University of Neuchâtel, Switzerland); Meenakshi Chhabra (Professor and Vice Provost; Fulbright Global Scholar & Fulbright Faculty Liaison, Lesley University, USA); and David Blustein (Professor, the Golden Eagle Faculty Fellow, Department of Counseling, Developmental, and Educational Psychology at Boston College Boston, USA).
