Francis-Vincent Anthony, Chris A.M. Hermans
The Salesians of Don Bosco have been present in India for over a century making their contribution to the education of the young, and thus promoting personal development and the common good. In a constantly changing global and interconnected world, leadership issue has become a crucial one in the educational field, as in other areas of life. With the view to exploring the current leadership style, we have undertaken an empirical research among heads of a representative sample of Salesian High and Higher Secondary Schools at the national level. The paper presents the findings with regard to their leadership style, and examines its association with some personal traits and institutional features. We conclude with a discussion on the significance of the salient findings.
