Admission, Assessment and Treatment of a Patient With Specific Learning Disorder
Elena Pellegrini
The object of this paper is a clinical case study centred on the admission and treatment of a child who at the time of the assessment was 8 years and 10 months old and was attending their third year of primary school. It starts from the first assessment, which highlighted difficulties not only in academic skills but also comorbidities with attentional difficulties, as frequently reported in the literature and also in the ISS (Italian National Institute of Health) guidelines on SLD from 2022. Modalities for interdisciplinary assessment and diagnosis, the project and the rehabilitation programme, and proposed treatment modalities are illustrated, up to final evaluation and outcome assessment, which takes into account good practices highlighted by the most recent guidelines.
