Nave Italia: integrazione e sviluppo a bordo di un veliero

This article presents an overview of the sail training teaching methodology, developed in Italy by the Foundation
«Tender to Nave Italia». Based on experiential education, outdoor education and the bioecological model of human development, this methodology allows Italian bodies and associations to carry out around 30 educational projects per year. Special care is given to the evaluation of processes and results. To this regard, a special multicomponent assessment tool, called the BMRE (Educational Achievement Assessment Battery) has been translated from English and used for the first time in Italy. The results of a preliminary validation are given and discussed.
