Essere creativi in tempo di crisi
Christian Albecker
France occupies an intermediate position in the European context as regards the assistance given to disabled persons, falling between the systematic inclusion and integration of disabled persons in normal contexts and treatment in specialised facilities. Important laws issued recently conclusively acknowledge the principle of the rights and freedom of disabled persons. However, the implementation of these principles in these times of crisis clashes with the financial restrictions. The policy makers have become unconditional supporters of integration and home-based support since they consider this solution to be less expensive compared to an institutional intervention. The Sonnenhof Foundation was forced to re-examine important projects which met well-defined needs and to invent new solutions which take into account these financial restrictions.
