Norme antisismiche, disabilità e sicurezza sui luoghi di lavoro

Angelo Marra

This paper provides an overview of the Seismic Safety Regulations and the laws concerning occupational health and safety, with particular reference to people with disabilities. These laws and regulations are also reinterpreted in the light of the principles of Accessibility and Universal Design introduced by the United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities. Furthermore, the author endeavours to assess the impact on the subject matter of Article 11 of the Convention, that is dedicated specifically to humanitarian risk and natural disasters.
The analysis is performed by adopting the Social Model of Disability as a reference to highlight those factors which marginalize persons with disabilities.
