The support teacher’s profession is characterised by turnover; this problem has a conditioning effect and, in many cases, frustrates the educational organisation and planning, with negative effects on the inclusion process of students with disabilities. A survey performed in the lecture halls of the University of Molise endeavoured to establish the causes of this phenomenon, tracing them to a fault in the correct identification of the support teacher’s role and focusing on enhancing the professional motivations through a targeted teacher training period.
