The contribution aims to examine in detail the consequences of child abuse on cognitive development. Not only can learning difficulties indicate current abuse, but can also significantly influence the child’s future development, by impairing resilience and self-esteem. Therefore, learning is a sensitive indicator of the existential condition experienced by the minor that also needs to be taken into consideration in cases of psychological abuse.
