Domotic solutions are able to increase signifi cantly the possibilities of independent living and the level of safety in the domestic environment.
The use of technologies to overcome obstacles in order to perform daily activities by people with disabilities is a more and more widespread practice by availing of electronic and IT assistive technologies. The combination of these technologies with modern plant engineering systems designed for houses creates the possibility of constructing houses which can also be used autonomously by persons with severe disabilities, at least in terms of their principal functions.
