Tecnologie assistive per le attività ludiche nelle situazioni di disabilità
Francesca Caprino, Elena Laudanna
Playing is a fundamental factor in promoting child development in its social, cognitive, psychological and physical components. However, the benefi ts which derive from playing may be endangered by the presence of severe disabilities.
Assistive Technologies can contribute to the development of play abilities in children with disabilities by overcoming environmental barriers which prevent playing, thus enhancing their well-being and their social inclusion.
This work summarises the possible role of Assistive Technologies in playing, from simple low-tech solutions to ground-breaking applications such as robotics and virtual reality.
