About mirror system learning in cerebral-palsied children

Adriano Ferrari

Among the therapeutic proposals applicable also remotely for the re-education of cerebral-palsied children, Action Observation Therapy, based on observation for imitation, meets with firm approval among professionals and families. In order to scientifically support its effectiveness, it is necessary to demonstrate that the mirror system, upon which it is based, also works in patients with permanent brain injuries and is able to replicate the observed action both in terms of executive performance and of achieved results.
