Nothing grows from diamonds. Profiles and perspectives of social agriculture in Italy
Saverio Senni
The article starts with a brief introduction that outlines the growth of interest for social agriculture in recent years, view from an «agrarian» perspective. Then it focuses on Law 141/2015, which for the first time recognises and regulates the activities of social agriculture in Italy. Subsequently, taking advantage of the conclusion of a national survey carried out recently by CREA and INAPP, some quantitative profiles of Italian practices involved in social agriculture are described. The contribution ends with some reflections on the perspectives of social agriculture in Italy with particular reference to its role in humanising economic relations and in the building of civil economy.
