An example of an integrated habilitative productive system
Jan Hassink
Care and social farming is developing across Europe and has reached different stages of development in different countries. We have identified three different orientations. In Italy and France, social farming directed towards labour integration and social inclusion provided by community-based organisations like social cooperatives is dominant. In Norway, the Netherlands and Flanders, care farming is mainly provided by private family farms and is an example of multifunctional agriculture. In Germany, Austria, Ireland, Slovenia and Poland the majority of care farms are community-based care services offered by institutional partners.
