The contribution of associations for disabled people and their families to the development of integration processes

The article outlines the historical context in which the first association initiatives took place, paying attention to the mechanisms of social and ethical progress that they promoted right from their establishment.
As a matter of fact, their active contribution to the political-cultural events of the Seventies distinguished the «Italian path» towards the scholastic inclusion of disabled people. Thus, the impact that associations had on the initial development of inclusion, taking the role of innovative designers and promoters of common civic sense, is highlighted.
