A multi-year training programme and an organisational challenge

The USL (Local Health Authority) of Ferrara ran a multi-year training programme on disability which managed to engage all key players in the service network. The objectives: to create awareness, to create a common scientific language and to stimulate organisational change.
A detailed description of the programme and the data associated with it is presented. The training programme, together with the establishment of accreditation for the social and healthcare services of the Emilia Romagna region, the Regional Fund for the non Self-sufficient and the reorganisation of Welfare and Social Service Authorities, represent an important moment for the kind of community welfare which the region aspires to.
