An exploration of Giftedness

The article presents the preliminary results of an exploratory survey of Giftedness conducted in a school context through the use of a tool for teachers currently under validation on the Italian population: «Renzulli Scales for Rating the Behavioral Characteristics of Superior Students» (Renzulli et al., 2010). Based on Renzulli’s three rings model, the tool allows the transversal aspects involved in the analysis of giftedness, which are not taken into consideration by teachers, to be evaluated: creativity, leadership, planning and communication. The study will present the cut-off scores for each sub-scale and it will discuss the main issues concerning the tool.
