The TellMeWhat platform offers new technologies for audio description

The TellMeWhat (abbreviated to TMW) online platform, developed by IRIFOR Macerata, brings together a series of tried and tested software technologies for audio describers. It enables them to audio describe any video stream using exclusive editing software which has been specially designed to add audio description content as text directly onto video tracks. This text is instantly processed by human friendly text-to-speech software, enabling the user to receive immediate feedback on the results produced by the content added.
Through this process, audio description is immediately available, dispensing of the need for recording studios, dubbers and editing technicians, with an aim to reduce costs and encourage greater distribution of video products with audio description, allowing users with visual disabilities to gain access to a wider range of information.
