Social enterprises as a crossroads of relationships for proximity

Laura Bongiovanni

Proximity is the way in which people find solutions to common needs. Proximity is built through relationships, creating opportunities for discussion, exchange and sharing. In this sense, the function of intermediary subjects can be very important in promoting relationships. Social enterprises are organisations which fundamentally have a high capacity for relationships. They are based on listening to the needs of people and identifying solutions in a shared manner, with high internal democracy. If properly exploited, these aspects can act as a crossroads of relationships and as a bridge for the development and consolidation of proximity interventions.
