The world is populated by people that today are identified in connection with Special Needs. Raoul Follereau, way before certain words that help us understand came into use, was one of the most fascinating and generous figures of the 20th century. The rights and treatment for lepers in the world led him to give up honours, wealth and power in order to dedicate his life to those who were, mostly, without rights and without treatment. Teaching others about meeting people different from themselves became his life. He was a progressive Catholic, incapable of creating divisions and able to attract attention because of his dedication.
