La Convenzione Internazionale ONU dei diritti delle persone con disabilità e gli sviluppi delle prospettive inclusive nei Paesi europei

Giampiero Griffo

The UN International Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities has brought cultural, social, political and technical changes. It is essential that these innovations are not only safeguarded but also subjected to a promotion process, aimed at increasing the number of people involved and their possibilities for inclusion. In fact, «Nothing about us without us» is not just the slogan adopted by the global movement for the emancipation of people with disabilities, but it is also a method, a right and a responsibility of associations to enforce these rights, not just lay claim to them. Italy has presented its implementation report, which drafts the setting up of a new Watchdog and of a technical scientific committee, thus laying down a possible positive intervention by the government over the next three years.
