Una partecipazione possibile

Massimo Santinello, Daniele Rossetti

Photovoice is one of the most widely used participatory action research methods in Community Psychology; through the use of photographic images it aims to «give a voice» to those who are normally marginalised from information flows and decision-making processes and to create community awareness from within, providing participants with a lived experience of «possible participation». The article describes a Photovoice project carried out with 15 young adults with Down’s syndrome aged between 19 and 26, all attending the «House and Work» project run by the «Associazione Down Dadi» in Padua, with the aim of providing new tools for expression, checking how these can activate communicative channels and evaluating how the project can lead to a lived experience of participation and community belonging.
