Intercultural mediation as pedagogical instrument

The proposed consideration concerns the central issues that characterize intercultural mediation: the balance between advocacy and empowerment, the question of the cultural belonging of the mediator, the reflection on the alternative between a specific profession of cultural mediator or rather of an intercultural competence, necessary today for all social professionals, and especially educators. Finally, we hypothesize a characterization of intercultural mediation in educational contexts, borrowed from the Winnicottian concept of potential space.
