Un questionario per l’autovalutazione delle conseguenze adattive in caso di dislessia

Francesco Viola, Valeria Duca, Cesare Cornoldi

Specific Learning Disabilities are characterized not only by difficulties in reading abilities, spelling and calculation, but also by a series of correlates concerning adaptive, motivational and emotional domains. In particular, the student with dyslexia presents a specific motivational profile characterized by low motivation, self-efficacy and self-concept, and a negative attitude towards reading. This profile could be harmful and negatively affect performance. The study presents a questionnaire assessing adaptive, emotional and motivational issues in students with dyslexia which can be used in clinical contexts or screenings in order to identify situations at risk. The administration of the questionnaire to more than 300 children, both with and without dyslexia, confirms its discriminatory power and offers indicative normative values.

Keywords
