Children with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) during the Covid-19 pandemic: Well-being, advantages and weaknesses of distance learning at school

Individuals with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) have been exposed to the distress caused by the pandemic measures and physical distancing (Bobo et al., 2020, Cortese et al., 2020, Melegari et al., 2020), with a possible negative impact on their primary and secondary disorders as well as on the educational sphere (Becker et al, 2020). Restrictive measures and distance learning (distance learning and digitally integrated learning) were factors that produced a strong effect on the entire school population with potential additional risk factors for those with neurologic developmental disorders. This paper, promoted by AIDAI FVG, represents a targeted exploratory study aimed at describing and examining well-being, difficulties and potential advantages of distance learning practices during the Covid-19 pandemic, in a sample comprising Italian students with ADHD belonging to primary schools and lower secondary schools. Students’ parents were also part of the sample.
