Decision-Making Processes in Developmental Dyslexia

In the investigation of developmental dyslexia, interest towards non-phonological deficits, specifically those concerning executive functions, is growing. In this field, recent attention has been paid to decision-making processes which lead the individual to choose an option among those available, whose outcomes are often uncertain. The article aims to inform the reader about this field of research by reviewing the studies carried out in order to understand decision-making processes in developmental dyslexia. The analysis of the literature supports the notion that some decision-making mechanisms are altered in developmental dyslexia. The significance of this line of research in understanding this disorder is emphasized.
