The present study offers information on the intellectual profile of children with ADHD with reference to data reported in the literature and data obtained on the basis of performances on the Wechsler Intelligence Scale for Children-Fourth Edition (WISC-IV) by 1004 children with a diagnosis of ADHD. In particular, results show that in the case of specific learning disorders their performance should be assessed considering the distinction between verbal reasoning (VCI), nonverbal reasoning (PRI), working memory (WMI) and processing speed (PSI), the first two being higher than the last two. The division of the children in three age groups shows that the pattern is similar, although certain weaknesses may be emphasized in older children.
