With this paper we intend to share best practices for school inclusion. Giovanni is a child in his fifth year of primary school who can no longer attend lessons as he is suffering from Wilms’ tumour. His teachers have implemented inclusive teaching, through cooperative learning and software instruments. They are also trying to improve Giovanni’s communication with his classmates, involving him as much as possible. For the same reason, his classmates are doing the same through emails. All of this helps Giovanni to control his pain and to be motivated to follow his classwork. This experience occurred a long time before the Covid-19 pandemic and we could never have imagined that what we were doing would become a reality for everyone: maintaining relationships with distance learning.
