The embodied mind and onlife: In search of the hidden paradigm4
Serafino Murri, Pier Paolo Tarsi
Starting from André Leroi-Gourhan’s lecture on the link between subjectivity and tools, the paper examines possibilities and limits of the influence of neural networks, deep learning and applications on the mind understood in the embodied sense. A vision of «digital subjectivity» as a potential enrichment of the educational relationship is proposed, removing from Artificial Intelligence the negative aura of substitution and impoverishment of learners’ cognitive abilities. Coupled with a communicative model of the Internet as a «territory of self-learning», the authors’ overall exploration suggests the possibility of an enhancement of the teacher’s role as a situated tutor.
