The Educational Perspective: From the IEP to the Life Project
Paola Di Michele
The Individualized Educational Plan is an integral part of the pupil’s Life Project. The IEP must be a living, participatory, and flexible project, capable of adapting to the context and the various needs and stages of the pupil’s life cycle. It does not limit itself to didactical objectives but aims to develop the skills necessary to face the challenges of adult life. The new ministerial models have systematized the dimensions of work on which to base the design, giving equal weight to the harmonious development of the pupil. Therefore, the school must design growth paths that develop a sense of self-efficacy and self-regulation, as well as significant skills to face the challenges of adult life.
