Sensory Treatment in Preschool Children with Autism Spectrum Disorder

Luigi Contato, Francesca Masina

This article is about a study involving 10 preschool children with Autism Spectrum Disorders and their related problems of sensory integration. Participants were all patients of the UONPIA of Ferrara and were treated following the ASI theory. Each child was subjected to a specific assessment, before and after the treatment, with the Child’s Sensory Checklist, for a total of 12 weekly sessions. The questionnaire was administered to the children’s parents in order to create a unique sensorial profile for each individual, which served as an assessment tool before and after the treatment.
