The Autism Center of Grosseto at the Time of Covid-19

Fabio Franciosi, Mauro Camuffo, Ettore Caterino

The Authors describe the reorganization of the Autism Center of Grosseto, a public multiprofessional outpatient service for children with Autism Spectrum Disorder, due to the emergency Covid-19. Health workers were placed in smart-working, except for the child neuropsychiatrist, present at reduced hours to ensure urgent and non-deferred visits, and all clinical activity has moved to telemedicine and telerehabilitation. The critical issues and strengths of the new operating methods are discussed, with a view of a progressive return to ordinary activity, which must necessarily include elements of innovation and change.
