Protocollo di intervento ABA: l’esperienza del Centro «Federica Pelissero» di Manta (CN)
Bussi Elisa, Rubiolo Lara
This article is a report on the rehabilitation activities carried out by the «Federica Pelissero» Centre in Manta (CN – Italy). The article examines the activities of the Centre, its history and future planning. It also intends to raise awareness of the rehabilitation programme in these two years. ABA (Applied Behaviour Analysis) is the science that studies and develops strategies for changing socially relevant behaviours and uses experimental analysis to identify the variables responsible for changes in behaviour. According to the recommendations of the ISS Guidelines, the ABA model is recommended in the treatment of children with autism spectrum disorders. Since there is wide variability in the results obtained at an individual level from intensive behavioural ABA programmes, as reported in the study, a case-specific clinical evaluation must be made in order to monitor the effectiveness of the intervention on each individual child, in other words, if and to what extent it produces the expected results.
