Capurso Michele, Caputo Miriana
Inclusion in the labour market of people with High Functioning Autism poses serious specific problems related to the characteristics of people affected by this syndrome. This research review analyses thirteen international studies aimed at evaluating the effectiveness of various projects of work inclusion by means of protected workshops or supported inclusion in the labour market. The models of inclusion in the labour market seem to be the most effective in economic terms, in terms of improving the symptoms of Autism and in terms of participants’ perception and satisfaction. Several factors which help in mediating work inclusion are analysed and discussed.
