Regarding health prevention, promotion and treatment, the idea of body image has aroused clinical interest. Particular focus has been placed on body dissatisfaction, which, if severe and unyielding, could result in a body image disorder. As a result, numerous studies in recent years have begun to take into account the idea of body image in preventative interventions for eating disorders, and as result, these interventions have been aimed not only at the reduction of negative body image but also at the promotion of positive body image. The current paper aims to highlight key aspects of primary, secondary, and tertiary preventive and promotion interventions focused on body image determinants and the impact of these interventions on variables connected with the onset and maintenance of eating disorders. In order to avoid the onset and relapse of eating disorders, the current review emphasizes the importance of performing studies and interventions that are body image-focused.
