Desire thinking and compulsive symptoms: An exploratory study

Marco Di Cugno, Annalisa Oppo, Carlotta Olivari, Gabriele Caselli

Statistical analysis showed that desire thinking is significantly associated with obsessive-compulsive symptomatology and classification to the group of subjects with relevant obsessive-compulsive symptoms. The multivariate general equation model indicated that subjects under the PI-WUrev’s cut-off and those who overcome it differ in the level of desire thinking, rather than in those of worry and pervasive responsibility. These results suggest that desire thinking may have relevance in the processes that regulate obsessive-compulsive symptoms and it deserves further study.
